Moulin Some remarks about my work…
Painting, I would say, springs from a deeply felt sensation. Portraits, landscapes
or still lifes are inscribed on a flat surface, such as canvas, wood,
a wall, a sheet of paper. Having chosen the limits of my subject,
I strive to achieve a luminosity that is aesthetic, one that engenders
emotions while accentuating the illusion of depth, that third dimension
that since Euclid has set the tone for academic painting while also
challenging numerous painters, such as Picasso and Dufy. Through an
impression of light, my paintings try to forgo their canvas support,
to offer a view as if one were standing before an open window. While
there is nothing perhaps innovative about this, it recalls the work
of past masters – creating an object in space with just the right
tones.
