Francis Moulin was born in Paris and lived in several different
regions, including the Touraine, Aquitaine, Picardie and Poitou-Charentes. After working as a
journalist and jazz critic, he studied drawing at a painting school for a year before undertaking his first oil paintings in 2003.
As a nature lover, Mr. Moulin mainly paints landscapes and seeks to recreate a classical spirit while paying careful attention to the diffusion of light. His
landscapes are an invitation to stroll, capturing emotions and sensations through
demanding aesthetic techniques.
For the most part, his first works were inspired by the Charentes region with its
wild, untamed countryside. The paintings of Francis Moulin are best described as
an open window in which the frame drops away and we see nature as it really is.
